We have just completed this bespoke job creating large, corten steel windbreak screens alongside corten Legacy Edging raised flower beds.

The client is an existing client who we have previously installed Steel Edging, Estate Fencing and handmade bespoke corten planters for. They came to us with the brief to create bespoke wind breaks surrounding their vegetable and flower garden. Legacy edging would also be installed to create raised beds to house vegetables and cut flowers. They did not want a fullscreen windbreak that would create an obstruction but wanted window views into and out of the garden.

The clients architect created the initial design of the Bar Code concept. It was then down to our team to come up with a strong but discreet design for the frame work that would be bolted to a concrete footing.

Our Fabrication team based in Leicestershire handmade the windbreaks and cut the legacy 5 corten steel garden edging to size ready to be sent to the team onsite for installation.

Legacy 5 edging was installed to create the raised beds where the client is looking to grow vegetables and a cut flower garden. The client picked Corten steel and it is one of my personal favourites as it develops a stable protective rust layer. It is most commonly used in construction and is a very popular choice for garden designers. You can see why in the image below, it looks striking.

‘A note from Martin’

‘What really works well with the screens are the windows in to and from the garden. It gives great interest to the space as well as being an effective wind break. The design also very much compliments the house and Kitchen garden area which are both still under construction’

Great to see how it is now looking.
