Legacy Edging Installation
Made in the UK, our garden edging is secured using strong steel pins, measuring 400mm long and 16mm in diameter. Able to hold the edging perfectly in place, these pins are driven through the connecting bosses at one-metre intervals.
The same pins are also used to join lengths of edging using our unique boss and flange system, resulting in much stronger edging than other options on the market. This means that you can create a continuous run of edging that only has the butt joints visible as all fixings are hidden below grounds.
The result is strong, great looking edging that can easily form gentle sweeps and curves to match your landscaping designs – no matter what soil type you’re dealing with. You’ll also benefit from a degree of vertical movement, allowing you to create the same height with your edging on uneven ground.
The Installation process couldn't have been easier!
How to install your Legacy Edging
- Start by marking out your line using either spray marker or string.
- If you are installing the edging next to a lawn, make sure the lawn is faced back along your line.
- Dig a narrow trench along this line, about 10cm wide. About half of the vertical face of your edging needs to sit underground, so use this as a guide for the depth of the trench.
- Start the installation from the most prominent corner of your line (pre-formed corners are available in 90-degree right angles or 270-degree right angles).
- Attach 2 to 3 lengths together using the locking pins. This will hold the lengths firmly together while still allowing them to bend as one to create our curves.
- Add the corner piece to these lengths.
- Site the corner piece vertically in your trench. When you’re happy that the line is right, drive the pins into the ground until they are flush with the collars.
- Keep attaching lengths until you arrive at the next corner piece.
- The last length of edging before the next corner will need to be trimmed accurately using an angle grinder or hacksaw so it can butt up to the next corner piece. Each corner piece comes with a joining plate, which clamps the cut length to the next corner piece.
- Continue this process until your edging is complete.
