Our long standing clients and garden designers David and Sue Moffitt got in touch with us to create large structural steel supports for their latest project near Oakham.
After making contact and discussing what was being proposed we recommended what steel sizes and structural supports would be needed.
Split into 2 tiers the first installation was 400mm high and this was added to support the new path and allow for a terraced mid tier to the garden.
The lower tier was 800m high and this was installed to support the mid tier and allow for a level terrace on a slope. Below this terrace the sloped lawn continued.
For both the tiers we used 6mm corten steel, this was welded to 80x80mm square steel posts which were anchored in concrete. The corten steel sheets are to be backdrop to the planted borders.
We had the chance to go back and see how the corten tiers are now looking once planted and we have to say they look absolutely fantastic. It is always a pleasure to work with this team.
